What are the subjects to study for the NDA?

NDA Syllabus Overview

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy Examination (NA) for admission into the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA. Here are the main subjects you need to study for the NDA exam:

  1. Mathematics: This section covers topics from Class X level. It includes:

    • Arithmetic (Number Systems, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry)
    • Mensuration (Area, Volume, Surface Area)
    • Statistics and Probability
    • Matrices and Determinants
  2. General Knowledge: This section is divided into two parts:

    • Part A - Physics: Covers topics from Class X level, such as:
      • Mechanics (Force, Motion, Work, Energy, Power)
      • Heat, Sound, Light, and Magnetics
      • Optics, Atomic Physics, and Electronics
    • Part B - General Studies: Covers a wide range of topics, including:
      • History, Geography, Polity, and Economy of India
      • Current Affairs
      • Environment and Ecology
      • Sports and Culture
  3. English: This section tests your understanding of English language, including:

    • Vocabulary and Grammar
    • Comprehension of Passages
